I have learned that job search workshops are highly effective. Bringing in area employers to speak to the students graduates and alumni. Posting job openings and creating a job resource book for students to begin their personal job search are all great tools.

I learned that having a mission statement as a good foundation is key. Offering multiple services to help students be successful and providing industry information and career opportunities is a great path to success.

It is extremely important that everyone work as a team to stay in compliance.

School must be diligent on the privacy of students personal information - and that protecting copyrighted material needs to be a priority.

safety of students and staff is a number one priority including cyber security and the outlines of FERPA are very important.

Academic evaluation is important to maintain Title IV Funding - if standards are not met then there should be systems in place to check this.

Admissions and Financial Aid should be kept separate so that the student receives the correct information and no misrepresentation takes place whether by mistake or not.

Team building on compliance and education in all departments re: Title IV are not just FA issues - every department needs to be educated.

I have learned that preparing for an audit should involve multiple sources. And that a plan needs to be set in place. Communication is key and that regulations need to be followed as strictly as possible.

I have learned that it is important to stay within the written guidlines of the laws and regulations of FA and to not read between the lines on getting clarification. Err on the side of caution
