Activity

I'm looking forward to incorporating more of these interactive project ideas in the classroom to get my students more actively paritcipating in an online course version of this class. This disspells my notions about an online course not being able to meet the hands on experience and possibilities that I now know an online course is VERY capable of. I particularly like the idea of having the students participate in putting together a video or a group blog/presentation using technology toe their advantage rather than relying only on lectures and simply regurgitating information back.

This helped me really take a more reflective view on active learning for the student and for online courses. There was a misconception before about what is included in an online course and whether or not it can be as effective as a F2F course. I'm excited to utilize these tools and tricks in the classroom to get my students actively participating.

This is really interesting! I'm not new to disabilities in the classroom either, but are there helpful hints/tips/tricks or language to encourage these students to come forward or to help them get access to these services without making them embarrassed or "ashamed" to bring up the disabilities? Or more particularly for those students who do not feel comfortable telling you about a disability or don't know they have a disability? (or perhaps are not willing to admit they have one, but there are clear signs).

Accessibility on a website is extremely important as more and more students are converting to online and remote learning. Many who may not have had anxieties in the past may now experience anxieties that are surfacing due to the pandemic. It's extremely important that our goal to reach all the students no matter what their disabilities, social anxieties, learning deficiencies, etc.

Having multiple ways to evaluate and improve a course should always be a part of the educators' reflection process in creating a USEFUL course that will serve the students and help the institutions' educational reputation.

Especially in this time of pandemic, it's so important to be getting regular feedback from students, not just on the material to make sure they're still processing the information, but also to encourage participation and connection with the community. As a class that isn't typically done online and is very hands on, this is a great way for my students to stay connected and in communication during a time when there is limited human interaction.

It's important that the information online be used to encourage and clarify purpose to the students by enhancing their experience with the use of technology, and not simply using technology as a replacement for teaching in the classroom.

Module consistency, and using clear and concise learning objectives is incredibly important to create a structured, and supported system for the students. Having an easy way to find these templates and keeping them consistent across multiple classes will be really important for my students to have a reliable learning method.
