Thanks, Ronnie. Building in the time to address issues that are not always "schedulable" is an important part of effective time management.
Sarah, Thank you for this post. Taking the time to learn each student's name is really worth the effort. Your students are fortunate to have a Registrar who cares about the students as much as the records, processed and numbers.

Thanks, Jennifer. I also like to put things like lunch or check voice mails on my list. It helps me to feel like I am getting things done, even on tough days.
" ... a few seconds might make all the difference in the world with a struggling or troubled student." You are right on target, here! Thanks, William.
Thank you, William. Keeping Admissions involved is a key to a successful school.

Shawn, Many organizations are having success with project management software that team members can update. It limits the need for drive-bys to get status updates.
Thank you, Sara. This sounds like a system that would benefit many career colleges.

Valerie, The ability to say "no" without feeling guilty is something many of us have had trouble developing. Not saying "no" can really lead to frustration as we fall father and farther behind. I have found that saying "not right now" works pretty well. I often let the person who asked for help know when they should check back with me. Sometimes their time frame does not match my availability, so they find other ways to accomplish the goal.
Thanks you for this post, Sarah. Helping students to identify the HABEs needed to be successful is well worth the time in class.
