Thanks, Troy. Bringing in "similar others" is a great way to illustrate what can be done if students really work hard. Schools that do not have graduates on staff usually bring in good students or graduates who have overcome a lot and made it to where they want to be.
Thanks, Dee. Folks should find this helpful!
Thanks for sharing this, Dee! This is a great strategy!
Maureen, You may want to get your team together to discuss the systems you have in place. It is easy to fall into the trap of spending 90 percent of your time on 10 percent of your students. The trick is to streamline processes for addressing the advising needs of these students so that a majority of your time can be spent with and for the majority of they students.
Thanks, Dee. Others who take this course might be interested in some of the things that the survey addresses that directly reference the quality of instruction. What are some of the things that are addressed on your school's course survey?

Thanks, Hank. It sounds like you are using the technology to help you manage time well.
Thanks for the feedback, Eric.
Thanks, Todd. Teaching critical thinking skills and giving students a chance to practice them is a great idea. Too often, teachers just expect students to have this skill and do nothing to cultivate it.
Thanks, Jacki. How do you transfer this perspective into online courses when there is no "face-to-face" interaction?
