Thanks, Ken. What are some ways that you try to lessen the impact of "chatting" on your productivity?
Thanks, Ken. What are the HABEs of your most successful students?
Thanks for this post, Barbara. We do indeed have our positions because students need us. The better we take care of them, including setting and holding them to appropriate academic and behavioral standards, the better off we will be as a sector.
Thanks, David. You description of the intelligent heart is a good one.
Thanks, Karen.

Thank you, Pierre. What are some of the specific things your mentors did for you that you are intentionally doing for your students?

Lynette, You are indeed fortunate to have had two such mentors when you were a student. Are there specific things you do now to position yourself as a potential mentor for your students?

Thanks, Terry. What are one or two specific things you would like to see happen regarding these meetings to make them more productive and less of a drain on your time?
Thanks, Amy. Contacting absent students is a pretty common strategy at career colleges. The calls are more effective when it is made clear to the student that the call is an attempt to provide needed support rather than a forced contact during which students are berated for missing class. Has your school resumed the required calls to absent students?

Thanks, Betty. Unnecessary or poorly run meetings are often identified as "time wasters." If one is running the meeting, one can have a great deal of impact on how te meeting progresses. If one is not running the meeting, it is more difficult. What do you think you can do as a participant to make the meetings go more quickly and be less of a time waster?
