Richard, sure. That's a great point. I wonder, what can you do to ensure you have a good working environment? Dr. Jean Norris
James, that is a great point. Not everyone is motivated by the same things and so it sounds like you appreciate when a leader has different ways to motivate others in order to meet the needs of the entire team. I'm curious, what are some examples that you have found successful? Dr. Jean Norris
Cherry, interesting point. I wonder, can a leader be someone without the title of "manager?" Dr. Jean Norris
Eva, I agree it can be frustrating when people don't listen. I'm curious, what techniques have you tried when it comes to listening? Dr. Jean Norris
Eva, great point. Using eye contact is a great way to make sure you are connecting with each person in a group. Dr. Jean Norris
That's a great point Ramiro. It sounds like you use all three methods in order to make sure you are connecting with the student because people like to communicate in different ways. Dr. Jean Norris
Thanks for sharing this Eva. Writing skills are important in any job and it sounds like you have great awareness here. Tell me, what is your plan to improve your writing skills? Dr. Jean Norris
Tina, you are exactly right. Great job. Dr. Jean Norris
Chris, humor can be a great approach if you have built rapport with that student. Helping the student to see what’s in it for them is also a great approach but it might be better to point out your amazing programs and beautiful facilities. Something to think about - conversations about financial aid are best to be discussed within the Financial Aid department. Dr. Jean Norris
Leon, thanks for sharing this. It sounds like you have a plan to move forward. I would be interested to hear how the modeling and mirror skills are working with your students. Keep us posted. Dr. Jean Norris
