For me the most important takeaway was that leadership does not coincide with a job promotion. I think many companies blur these lines often.
What I gathered is that you are not necessarily a good leader just because you are a good manager does not mean you are a proven leader in your organization. However, I will say that the lines can be blurred and most organizations want their managers to be leaders as well.
Often times as professionals we can get caught up in our experiences and credentials that we forget to self check ourselves. This is monumental in the light of our technical future that we are racing towards everyday. Educators, including myself have to be open and intentional with learning new tricks that will allow us to bond and relate with the youth for years to come.
