One big mistake made by instructors is when they think they are going to be liked by every student.  The important thing to remember is that the instructor should work to gain respect, fairness, and consistency,

It can be challenging when dealing with students who come to class, and they are angry.  It is going to be important for the instructor to listen to allow them and allow them to share their concerns without interrupting.

I have learned that it is easier to call on those who seek to be the center of attention but include all students in the discussions and activities.

Great module!!! It shared the importance of sharing a syllabus with students on the first day of class.  It acts as a great reference for students as it relates to policies, requirements and the course.

This study offered some important points for the adult learner.  As an instructor, I want to be aware of concerns relating to them such as being open to allowing them to share their personal experiences.  This is important for retention.  Also, it is important to give ways to retain information such as mnemonic.

The study offers some important points about the importance of building rapport with the students. It will aide in assisting in the development of trust, respect and identification of goals that student and instructor have in common.

The study offered some great points about the human factor.  As the instructor, I want to always provide an opportunity for self-respect for the student by enabling him/her to focus on his/her skill and by learning their names.  This will assist in class rapport.

The course offered some excellent points in dealing with students from different cultures or countries and those who have learning disabilities.  Sometimes to ensure student's understanding it may require demonstration and repeating demonstration.  And those with disabilities, it is important to discuss with the student his/her specific disability and support them in those areas.

I learned how important it is to have a simple and effective way to keep records whether dealing with assignments, chats or emails. I learned with communication management that classifying my emails may assist with time management and I should always respond to personal messages in a private way. Additionally, I learned that an email is an effective way for counseling but it is important to avoid promising immediate responses. In addition, I learned about the different behavior management  such as quiet, noisy, disruptive and intimidator.

With the two types of learning styles, asynchronous and synchronous the approach will be different.  With  asynchronous, everything does not happen at the same moment.  So, in order to foster participation, share the rules, post and monitor all class discussion and maintain focus of discussion.  With synchronous, instruction takes place in real time so it will provide opportunity for small talk and allow time for student to reflect on some subject matters.  And whenever feedback is provided, instructor should ensure it is done in a way to encourage particpation, confidence, and motivation.  It may also include constructive criticism.
