Very interesting how we can all look at problem from different angles and break it down. And also we can all come up with different answers as well.

I see the discipline thing alot in this younger generation. They don't want to practice or put in the time to get better and master what the are doing.

I see the lack of critical thinking in my Mechanical Drawing class. I will sit with a student and try and help them think of a solution but the just want the answer (instant gratification) and they don't want to learn from trial and error.

Good notes as fill in the blank, mnemonics, key words, are all great tools for helping students to retain and retrieve important information in the class.

Quizzes  and reviews are great for reviewing the material but also to show why the info is relevant is also very important.

If you have students who have the same learning patterns and intelligence patters, I should pair them up to work together.

I find it interesting the different types and ways we learn. I always try and go back to teachers in my past that did things in the class that made learning so fun and memorable.

Safety is always the first priority. If you can't do it safely then don't do it. Lab accidents are a fast way to lose your program, job, everything.

As a welding instructor a rubric is nice to have as the students don't understand welding code but that is my standard for them passing a weld test. And testing often is my way of assessment.

In my experience the lab is most of the time a great place to learn because the students are engaged in the activity.
