It's important to keep your students engaged while learning in an online environment. There are many issues that can arise for the students if they are working, have families, have issues with online learning and not enough time for everything in their day. educators need to check in and assist these students with support and referrals that can help them thrive and continue with their education and future success in their field of study.

Instructors should provide feedback to their students, it should be encouraging, in a timely manner and be mindful of their wording when providing .  Instructors should also accept feedback from their students. This helps build rapport and encouragement in their learning environment.

As an instructor, you should be upfront with your students, answer their questions honestly, and if you do not know the answer let them know that you will find out. Get to know them and let them get to know you. Share your biography and your interests, encourage your student to get to know each, especially if they live in the same areas. With doing this they can collaborate and help each other in their learning process and share insights with each other.

As an educator you need to familiarize yourself with what is required to accomplish your job and help your students learn.

Don't overwhelm your students with lengthy lectures, break them down in increments. Be personable, keep your students engaged in in their learning. Break the ice and find the best ways your students learn and use the variety of ways they learn to keep them engaged to continue learning.

Introduce yourself to your students with confidence and professionalism. Welcome the students into your class and provide them with a sense of of belonging, allowing them to get to know each other and you. This can help break down any barriers and help them understand what they will learn and accomplish in your class. Your syllabus will be their guide and they will know what to expect and the timelines they will have to start and complete their work. This will encourage them to become proactive learners and doers. Provide your students clear, concise instructions regarding their learning through their syllabus. This will help your students by knowing what is expected of them for the duration of the class. Set goals, provide structure and be organized.

You need to be a model for your students, and be professional in every way from teaching, speaking, dressing and engaging. You can peak their interest in learning which can help motivate and encourage them to be confident and successful in their fields.
