About me

Former Natural Awakenings "healthy living" magazine publisher, and current colllege adjunct Professor at AIDT, I am a true Entrepreneur - someone who in nearly always in motion, who loves people, loves developing both people and businesses, and someone in particular, who takes delight in helping other grow, self-actualize and fulfill their dreams.

Originally from the Chicago suburbs, I teach part-time (Communications/Speech, Marketing/Business, Entretpreneurship) and also own Bella Green B&B/Retreat Center/Spa (www/bella-green.com) a lovely 2 bedroom/2 bath guest house, studio/conference center and spa, just North of San Antonio in the Texas Hill County. I have found that living simply and creating a blend of  teaching part-time, and hosting others who are looking to detress and invigorate, makes for a perfect life for me.

Some of my favorite things include doing absolutely nothing (mindfully enjoy the peace and quiet of the hills, colorful sunsets, sipping tea) AND being creative. It matters not whether I am writing, drawing, dancing, cooking, massaging, playing with pastels, Pinterest or rock carving...they all feed my soul, and I am happy just being in the creative moment, making new friends at the B&B, or listening/teaching/brainstorming with my students. I also belong to the Wild Women's Litereary Society (my book club), Hill Country Women in Business, and do volunteer projects for Kendall County Women's Center.

@periwho : The higher I bump my enthusiasm, and actively demonstrate the value of the content, the higher the test scores!

I Love that idea!  Might you lead me to what you already have done on YouTube or wherever else you have them?  Thanks!

If we can't show enthusiasm to our students about what we are teaching, how can they possibly LOVE it.  I try to teach that we each should be working towards perfectING (becoming our best self) rather than focussing on trying to perfec_TION.  This, along with a win-win mentality can be so beneficial to all involved!!!

I totally agree, Michael!  Especially when some of the students are more at-risk for drop out than others.

I have no problem wih the 4 hour classes (other than they are harder to teach because I need to overprepare each class in case we finish us a segment earlier than anticipated which will happen), but I have a 5 hour class that is really energy zapping!  If the students fail to bring water or snacks for break, physiologically I lose them.....and I feel it is not in the best interest of anyone.  I won't say YES to a 5 hour class again....too stressful on me, as well as the students (in my oppinion).
