About me

I am an Education Advisor/Consultant for MaxKnowledge. I write courses that assist in the professional development of career college instructors. These courses range in content from the introductory level to advanced instructional development. I started my teaching career as an instructional technology teacher on the high school level, completed graduate school and then moved into higher education. I spent many years in the area of teacher training at the University of Nebraska. While at the University of Nebraska I stared working with career college instructors to improve their instructional delivery skills. As a result of these experiences I have been a consultant to career colleges throughout the United States and a number of foreign countries.

Activity

Ray, This is a good way to give them a lot of experience with different outcomes and approaches. These experiences are really going to help them once they are out in the field and have to make decisions on their own. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Samantha, This seems to be missing in some many of our students. We need to help them see the value of self discipline and how it will impact their lives. With our instant society they learn to jump on a personal device and due a search but they do not know how to think through and analyze what they are reading. The more we can help them to do this the better prepared they will be in the workplace. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Samantha, This is a very important point in terms of critical thinking. Students need to develop their ability to analyze situations, resources and strategies. If they are able to do such then they will be able to make choices that will lead to the solution of problems. Like the way you get them to using a wide variety of resources rather than letting them just use one .com search. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Paul, This is great because with built in relevance you have the foundation already in place for motivation to occur. This makes teaching fun because the students can see how everything they are learning fits within their career development. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Mariann, This is such a fun time in teaching. When the light bulb goes on and you know they got it that makes the rest of the class go so well. You know you have helped someone to see their future and how they can become a part of the career they have chosen. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Carmen, How do you do this? Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.

Wendy, Thank you for your comments because they are inspiring in themselves since you have reviewed many of the challenges our students face and yet there they are day after day striving to complete their program. This is why I love going to graduation because I get to see and meet the family members that are behind why the students worked so hard to make it. I am always on a high for a few days after graduation and this helps me to work even harder at my instructional improvement. We are impacting the lives of students. Gary Gary Meers,… >>>

Kim, We all like to walk into a setting that is pleasant to be in and is supportive of why we are there. This is why it is important to make sure our classrooms and labs are clean, neat and ready to receive students. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Carmen, Can you share some examples of this? Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
