Hi Jeffrey, I like your line about listening. I am sure that this really helps to set at ease the students and their concerns about being an active part of the class. You are showing them how they can become engaged without being excessively nervous about presenting. Gary
Hi Holly, This is a powerful way to keep the students engaged. They are there for themselves and in most cases someone else, like a son or daughter, mother or father, a former teacher, etc.. Making these folks proud of you is a great motivator for us all. Gary
Hi Lubna, Good way to involve everyone in the discussion and learning process. This also gets the students to thinking about possible solutions to problems that are raised in the class sessions. Gary
Hi Kelly, Very good point. All of us need to be able to transfer what we are learning to other settings. This is where application and relevancy becomes so valuable to the learning process. Gary
Hi Brian, I teach in a similar situation and I like you really focus on the soft skills that are needed for career success. They need to have a strong work ethic, ability to work with others, be on time, etc.. Gary

Hi Kelly, As a courtesy you could tell the class that you will be taping the class and if anyone has a problem with being tape they should let you know. Then you could talk with that student individually about their concerns and get their approval or make sure they are not in any of the scenes. This is based upon you using the tape in your class. If you are going to use the tape with other classes then you will need to send a release sheet around to the students and have them sign it or not. My… >>>

Hi Lori, All of the deliveries you mentioned lead to a number of different approaches that help to appeal to the different learning preferences in the class. All of these forms of learning deliveries get the students involved and excited about the what they can and are learning. Good job. Gary
Hi Christal, This will help get the course off to a good start because you will have a picture of the class diversity and dynamics. From this information you can customize each class session as needed. Good job. Gary
Hi Kathy, This approach is going engage more students and increase their retention. The more examples you can use the relevancy they are going to see while using their different intelligence categories to internalize the content. Gary
Hi Thomas, Your comments really reflect where many of our career college students are. They have a specific set of goals and are ready to work to achieve these goals. The more we can assist in this effort through support the greater the level of engagement is going to be. Gary
