About me

I am an Education Advisor/Consultant for MaxKnowledge. I write courses that assist in the professional development of career college instructors. These courses range in content from the introductory level to advanced instructional development. I started my teaching career as an instructional technology teacher on the high school level, completed graduate school and then moved into higher education. I spent many years in the area of teacher training at the University of Nebraska. While at the University of Nebraska I stared working with career college instructors to improve their instructional delivery skills. As a result of these experiences I have been a consultant to career colleges throughout the United States and a number of foreign countries.

Hi Justin, Your last sentence captures the essence of how we need to meet the needs of our students. By helping them know how they learn best we can target our instruction and the students achieve learning success. A win win for everyone. Gary
Hi Bronwen, Good point. Adults are looking for ways they can be successful in the course especially if they have been out of school for a number of years. By offering variety you are letting them see how they can learn the material by using their life experiences and the different learning deliveries. Gary
Hi Dr. Dunlap, So true. Variety in instructional delivery is a must. This will help to keep their interest and focus. If we don't offer variety as we all know they will be zoned out for the duration of the class. Gary
