About me

I am an Education Advisor/Consultant for MaxKnowledge. I write courses that assist in the professional development of career college instructors. These courses range in content from the introductory level to advanced instructional development. I started my teaching career as an instructional technology teacher on the high school level, completed graduate school and then moved into higher education. I spent many years in the area of teacher training at the University of Nebraska. While at the University of Nebraska I stared working with career college instructors to improve their instructional delivery skills. As a result of these experiences I have been a consultant to career colleges throughout the United States and a number of foreign countries.

Activity

Anita, All good components for the students to be refreshed on as you move through the course sequence. Gary
Michael, This is so important because students can easily lose the reason for why they are enrolled in the first place as the course proceeds. Knowing the WIIFM helps to keep the content relevant. Gary
Ann, I think you will really like the way the class flows and how much your students enjoy the change of pace. Gary
Salvador, I agree. I like to use learning groups as well. They need to learn to respect and work with each other because that is what they will be doing out in the work world. Gary
Cassandra, This is so important to do to keep the students engaged. Good way to help the students to see the value of what you are teaching as well helping them to acquire new knowledge. Gary
Jan, Good way to provide variety and flow to the instructional process. This will help to keep the students engaged throughout the class session. Gary
Robin, Good point instructors need to remember. Stay within the frame of reference of the students as well as the availability of support that can be given. Gary
Rosemarie, Good way to offer different learning opportunities for the students. This way their different learning preferences will be appealed to. Gary
Chemo, It sure does plus it makes both teaching and learning easier for everyone. Gary
Nicole, Good suggestion for other instructors to follow. Gary
