About me

I am an Education Advisor/Consultant for MaxKnowledge. I write courses that assist in the professional development of career college instructors. These courses range in content from the introductory level to advanced instructional development. I started my teaching career as an instructional technology teacher on the high school level, completed graduate school and then moved into higher education. I spent many years in the area of teacher training at the University of Nebraska. While at the University of Nebraska I stared working with career college instructors to improve their instructional delivery skills. As a result of these experiences I have been a consultant to career colleges throughout the United States and a number of foreign countries.

Activity

Ann, I agree about the benefits of field trips. I use them and guest speakers to get my student ramped up when they start to wear down during the course. Gary
Dominique, Be confident in your abilities both as a field experienced person as a well as an educator. Be well prepared and professional in your conduct and dress. All of these things will send a message to the students that they have a dedicated professional educator as their instructor and then respect will come with your efforts. Gary
Peter, So important. Be clear and concise about expectations and this will help students to relax and see how they can be successful in the course. Gary
James, You make a very good point about first impressions. We need to always keep this point in mind as we start a new class. Gary
Mark, Good strategies for all instructors to follow. You have captured a comprehensive way to be successful in the classroom. Thanks for sharing them. Gary
Ben, So true and so important and something we need to always think about as we set up our courses. Gary
Emil, Well said. These are three very good reasons for the writing good goals and objectives. Gary
Ann, I agree and I know you have an endless supply of stories to share that fit each segment of the course. Keep sharing those stories and inspiring students. Gary
Nightwing, This is a great complement to your instructors plus you have role models to follow. Keep up your instructional development and continue to inspire your students. Gary
Salvador, Good strategy. Students like to hear examples and stories about what their instructors did in the field and what they will encounter when they are in the field themselves. Gary
