About me

I am an Education Advisor/Consultant for MaxKnowledge. I write courses that assist in the professional development of career college instructors. These courses range in content from the introductory level to advanced instructional development. I started my teaching career as an instructional technology teacher on the high school level, completed graduate school and then moved into higher education. I spent many years in the area of teacher training at the University of Nebraska. While at the University of Nebraska I stared working with career college instructors to improve their instructional delivery skills. As a result of these experiences I have been a consultant to career colleges throughout the United States and a number of foreign countries.

Activity

Diana, Excitement does spread, doesn't it? We need to bring enthusiasm to the classroom each time we teach. Gary Dr. Gary Meers
Rochelle, I think you are really going to like the results you achieve with this strategy. Gary Dr. Gary Meers
George, Developing problem solving skills is essential for students. This application is going to be of great help to you and your students I am sure. Gary Dr. Gary Meers
George, I think this is a great way to show the students what the course expectations are and how you are going to take them through the course. This way they can concentrate on meeting the deadlines and doing the work rather than spending time wondering what they are suppose to do. Gary Dr. Gary Meers
Rochelle, I teach from 4 until 10 pm so can relate to what you are saying about needing to set a positive tone for the upcoming course. Gary Dr. Gary Meers
Nancy, I use something similar to this in my classes with the same great results you are achieving with your students. They really get to know each other and get settled into the class from the very beginning. I like the way you introduce yourself and bring the human factor in as the instructor. This really sets the stage for the upcoming course sessions. Gary Dr. Gary Meers
Elayne, Right you are relating to being a model for them. They need to have someone in the field they can compare their growth to as they move through the course. Gary Dr. Gary Meers
Keelan, How do you assess what the students are willing to learn? Once you know that information how do you incorporate it into your instructional planning? Thanks for you input on this. Gary Dr. Gary Meers
Ariane, This will be a great experience for you because you will be surprised I am sure at how much you can pick up in a short time. Gary Dr. Gary Meers
Shalanda, I like students like this because they are hungry to create a future for themselves. They have specific career goals in mind and are willing to work hard to achieve them. Gary Dr. Gary Meers
