About me

Hi, My name is Florita Robinson. I am currently a dental assistant instructor at Concorde Career Colleges Olrando, FL.  This is my 5th year as a dental assistant instructor; I spend 3 years teaching at a previous Career Institute. I enjoy teaching students, specifically the wide variety of ages I come across students ranging from 18 years to 45 years and up.

The maxknowledge courses are a great tool to help instructors better their teaching skills, giving them an understanding of the different learning styles of students, and how to best reach or approach them. Also, giving the intructor the opportunity to renew or add new goals and objectives to their yearly teaching plans, helps to keep them grounded or focused to do a good job teaching and guiding the students through their programs.

Activity

I truly belief that this helps a student succeed. It is just staying positive and encouraging and they will try and work harder to succeed and please those who support them.

I value the interaction of students, their experiences. The experiences they share with everyone bring to life the cultural differences.  Every student has an opportunity to share, compare, and learn the different ways individuals conduct their lives, and learn from it, or some even come to like the cultural difference' and take it on as their own if they so wish.

Great feedbaclk to the student Shelly not to mention the word test. The student is probably very thankful to you.

i agree with you that the career schools are a safety net for those studentd who fall through the cracks.  The students have an extra chance at succeeding and start a career.  I firmly believe these schools should keep on existing particular so that we al have a chance at succeeding in life.

Great course, i have learned a lot.  The course emphasizes the importance of Soft skills or Emotional Intelligence in the learning environment and work place.  Unfortunately, those tend to be often overlooked in the school setting as playing an important part for the success of the school both by its employees and customers.  Both employees and customers are to work toward the shared goal of the success of the school.

Now, this subject is helpful to the school as well as to students. Both students as well as the employees of the school from admissions to financial to instructors should know the WHY/WIIFM answers. First employees are to guide and help students to work toward the successful completion of studies. Students on the other hand should keep their vision in mind that landed them into the school, and make this vision become reality. Everyone is then working toward the common shared goal of having a successful great school.
I think one of the best ways to make a positive impact on the student is demonstrating as instructor/teacher your believe in them just as they themselves believe that they will succeed.
To help students succeed with their studies, remind them to look toward the future, the day they will have finished classes... Will that be wonderful...I have a career...woohoo! Or.. remind them of the desire that nudged them to start classes, or... that they are doing this to have a better life....
An instructor who guides the student, showing she/he believes they will do well in ones studies, already works to helping the student succeed. By having the student practicing subjects several times and guiding and correcting them the instructor monitors and hold the student accountable to do well.
some of the retention building programs contributing to student success involve advising or counseling, tutoring, communication systems, open door policy, etc.
