Absolutely right! You get a new catalog or new addendum, be sure to send TWC a copy. Don't forget the PS-042R and a list of changes.

The purpose is to make sure the TWC knows what you are giving the students. A PS-042R is required to ensure that it is an authorized change. Frank Hammack

Remember the rules state that if they miss "more than" 10 consecutive days or "more than" 20% of the total program hours. You are right, the make up hours must be made before they exceed the 20% rule. Frank Hammack

I would recommend that you contact TWC directly and get an official interpretation of this change. Ask for something in an email to have documentation. You can call TWC at 512-936-3100. Frank Hammack

That is one of the reasons. The main reason for the PS-042R is to ensure that this is an official change and not an unauthorized change. You notice that the form must be notarized. Frank H.

The student should receive credit for those courses that they have successfully completed. They may start at the being of the next progress evaluation period. Frank H.

A school can have a strictier policy then the TWC rules but they should be published in the catalog so the student will understand the rules. These should also be listed in the syllabus. Frank
Discussion Comment
The rules are set to give the student the opportunity to miss some because that will happen. A student must learn to manage their attendance.
Discussion Comment
If the total course time hours for a program is over 200 hours then a student must be terminated if they miss more than 20% of the total course time hours. A school may have a strictier policy, i.e. 15% but cannot have on that is greater, i.e. 24%. A school can have a make-up policy but it must be approved by Career Schools before you implement it. The 5% must be made up before they exceed the 20%.

As long as they return on time, i.e. if they are scheduled for an 8:00am class and they are there on time, then you do not have to terminate them. Be sure to document that they returned on time on the 11th day and did not miss more than 10 days. Frank
