Nearly a decade of highly diversified teaching experience at the community college level in the English and Workforce Development Divisions. Highly experienced in teaching composition, reading, critical thinking, debate and how to embed a liberal arts curriculum with entrepreneurial concepts. Specialized in teaching writing. An emphasis on writing for different genres, with a focus on research. A structuralist when it comes to organizing content in composition classes and for workforce development readiness classes. An expert in creating contextualized classes that meet the needs of a diverse population while adhering to Student Learning Outcomes. Ability to conduct both face to face classes as well as online classes.

As a faculty member, I cannot access students' prior grade results without a legitimate reason and, depending on the school, without permission from the student.

Parents cannot have access to a student's records if the student is an adult.

The punishment and outcomes for a Title IX or a VAWA can vary based on intensity and frequency.

Even though 60 days is considered the average time period to report, the report and investigation might be over that 60-day time frame. If that happens, so be it.

A Title IX case may not result in incarceration but will result in termination at the institute. 

 

 

As an instructor at a higher education, I am a mandatory reporter, even if I hear of sexual harassment or assault, not from the victim but from a source outside of the organization or from another channel other than a formal complaint or report.

I teach at Los Angeles Community College District, the largest CC District in the USA, and have taken Title IX training through my work there.

Browsing through the material provided here, I had a refresher on why Title IX is so important for the future and safety of those who work, teach and study in a higher education institute.

Title IX provides support and legal reporting for anyone discriminated against based on sex, gender, ethnicity, and nationality.
