Activity

Being in simulation, I can incorporate an "opening" briefing activity to captivate students' early interest. We can engage in guided- discussions followed by the sim scenarios to help cement nursing concepts, practice kinestheic skills and internalize therapeutic nursing attitudes and behaviors. Debriefings should include a summary of the activities and what the students achieve in relation to the expected outcomes of the day.

In simulation, we usually start with a briefing followed by the simulated activities and, finally, end with a debriefing process. This more or less follows the "Tell - Teach - Repeat the lesson" instructional method. What I have learned, so far from this course, is to make our pre- simulation briefings more interesting and attention- cathcing. Perhaps and I envision this, we can create beginning activities that can stimulate their enthusiasm to carry on witht the day's simulation with more gusto.

This is a wonderful course! Though most of the information in this course are already familiar to most educators, the presentation is simple and yet very interesting. The course makes us more aware of how questioning can raise the bar of learning in our different classes. Once again, I am so looking forward to applying what I have learned here in my simulation classes. I would really want to strive to become well versed with the open and procedural questioning to make my facilitation much more productive. I need to use the closed questioning followed by open questioning type like… >>>

I found this course challenging! Though I found that some of the things being taught here I am already implementing, there are still many interesting matters that I find very useful. I certainly am already contemplating how I can utilize these in my simulation classes for the benefit of the students and their maximal learning.

I love this course. I learned so much about active learning methods and I intend to utilize some of the things I have learned when I simulate Advanced Medical- Surgical Nursing scenarios with our students.

Thank you very much.

I absolutely like this course. I learned so much from it and I will implement right away things that I can do to manage stress in my professional and personal life. Thank you for for this wonderful course.

This is an invaluable course for me! I learned so many things here which I intend to use at the early possible time in my simulation classes.

I learned so many new information on how the brain functions. I will use these foundational theories in creating new simulation scenarios and situations that will help students learn more, perform better skills and acquire the right attitudes as nursing students.

I am a Simulation Instructor. It is a great job because I can create scenarios that mimic real - life situations in teaching our students. This course is valuable to me since I can use certain things like peripheral learning, music or the Pygmalion effect to help in the students' learning processes. This also gives me the opportunity to ask more from our students, make them share their life experiences, to enrich our over-all learning. I need to learn and practice more on the instructor's notes and on the logistical notes as well.

I intend to add the following for the benefit of nursing students having simulation with me:

1. provide an outline of the activities for the day that we shall have,

2. more elaboration of nursing concepts and application examples so that the students will comprehend these better,

3. more dynamic interaction with the students to find out their learning needs,

4. and more reflection on their part during debriefing to gather their advices and suggestions for the improvement of the succeeding classes that we shall have.
