Very interesting course, ED 102, and I like the interjection of information to keep it interesting.  I would say some highlights are some direct pointers on how to keep the students engaged in learning.  I will definately use the sharing some students professional insights for my class.

I think a startling statement (at the beginning of the lecture)  does perk up ones attention.  The understanding is that a student is anticipating soaking up information.  The basic reiteration of anticipated information will often times be boring.  With a dynamic start the student will be open for more learning.

I think that groups online can work fine.  The thing is the members must work in tandem.  They have to communicate what has to be accomplished and then systematically work on it.  They should all trade phone numbers and maybe set up a skype type connections to coordinate and assign the tasks fairly.

I found it very interesting how the class elements related to a ground class.  However there are distinctive differences in the online arena.  The class is very well structured to teach you how handle all these differences.  I might add that some of the direct structural ideas of keeping an online class engaged can be used right out of the shoot.

Even if you have been teaching a while I believe that some of the updated nuggets, if you will, in the course were very positive pointers to build on.  For example taking into consideration particular personal issues of the students.

Hi Charles,

You sold me I will give it a whirl!
