Debbie, This is a fantastic opportunity for students, and one that frankly is unique to our sector! Donna Guisado
Debbie, Yes, its unfortunate that more "caution tape" is required. It is actually a common finding to have catalog with missing verbiage. But these visits can often precipitate some great action on the part of the institution, and it sounds like your's has undertaken some great strides, what with weekly meetings, live documents, etc. Donna Guisado
Debbie, You have got it all covered! You and your institution are using all the right resources. And keeping them up to date electronically as well as having regular meetings...fantastic! Donna Guisado
Jacqueline, Sounds like you have all the right components to introduce your school to the prospective student. Donna Guisado
Jacqueline, Admissions is truly on the "front line" of providing correct information to the public. When you think about it, you literally ARE the face of the institution! So it is vital that you are as up to date as possible using those boards, blogs, etc. I'm glad you found those useful. As for accreditation, you are right: you simply MUST understand the rules and regulations of those governing bodies. And they often seem to change almost each and every day! Very glad that discovering this was useful for you! Donna Guisado
Jacqueline, You are doing all the right things! School performance fact sheets...not guaranteeing placement...all good things to have and say! Donna Guisado
Jacqueline, For some reason, that physical notebook seems so easy to grab, doesn't it? The beauty of electronic is that it can be quickly and easily updated, and then everyone has the most current, and up to date information at the touch of a button. Good to know that your team keeps both at the ready. Donna Guisado
Mary, The resources these associations can offer you are excellent. I hope your institution will allow for that. They can be invaluable in the information they provide! Donna Guisado
Mary, If all the schools had this attitude, there perhaps would not be some of the issues private post-secondary schools are facing. It is the schools that do not put the students first that seem to be the most problematic. I'm curious how you and your team are handling the salary questions. Are you refering these questions to website? How is your team trained to respond to that, sometimes, very tricky subject? Donna Guisado
Mary, You will love going totally electronic...but I'm still old school enough to want a paper back up! I think your institution sounds as if they have all the bases covered. And your accreditation will love that. Donna Guisado
