PING, Unfortunately, you cannot say that unless your program is the only program of its kind. Unique implies that there is no other program like it...and unless you are teaching something that no other school is teaching, you cannot. It is pretty particular, isn't it? And so difficult to catch ourselves! But being aware is the first step to being cautious. Donna Guisado
PING, Sending the visit documents to your students before they visit is a great idea, Ping. It holds the school accountable to the student to make sure they see and experience everything they need to. Donna Guisado
PING, It's a very important time for your school, during the initial accreditation process, that you do exactly that. Donna Guisado
PING, I love that you often include the students in your communications. How wonderfully transparent for them! This is really a great thing, and over time will help this new school be successful, I am sure. Donna Guisado
Bruce, Daily contact with your admissions team is crucial. I would definitely consider that a "best practice"! Also, having the catalog and other documents posted electronically allows for quick and cost effective changes to happen in real time. As your first contact with the public, it is vital that the admissions team is fully informed and provides the most up to date info to the "customer". Donna Guisado
Angelica, I agree! Electronic is also easily updated as well. Donna Guisado
James, Isn't it amazing how "word-particular" the laws have become? Especially those governing the private sector. Pay special attention to the BPPE requirements for admissions and enrollment agreements. They want it word-for-word from their regulations! Keeping in contact with the associations is a great help. Glad you have found some useful resources in that regard. Have a great 4th of July! Donna Guisado
That's great. Sounds like you have everything you need to get the student enrolled in the right program. Donna
James, Many of the state's and often the accreditation agencies requirements for an enrollment agreement are not only to provide information to the student, but to protect them...and protect the school as well. Interesting that your institution does this all on-line. I think many schools will go that way, as more and more lean towards offering online programs exclusively. Donna Guisado
Hello James, Certainly sounds like you have it all together! I agree that an electronic resource is far more convenient to update, and quickly access for student questions and concerns. So important to be "up-to-date" on all of the areas you mentioned. Donna Guisado
