This course is presenting some great ideas to brqanch out from the "canned" course material. Using some different techniques can make the learning not only benefical, but also fun.  If the students can have some fun at learning, this will make them more willing to engage. Any thoughts?

The students need to be incentivized to want to check e-mail.   I submit all relevant class information in the online class room, and I also tell student that it is their responsibility to read the information and respond to e-mails.  The incentive for doing so will result in a better grade.

Hi Kim,

I experience that as well.  It is really hard, but I try to add follow up questions.. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

Shelly,

I disagree. Cheating is chearting.  Does not matter if it is online or in a classroom.

Is it possible to have an online enviornemt for every degree program?  Or are there some programs that it would be impossible to complete online?

Kathy,

How does it work?  If you had to put a percentage on it, what would it be?

Lisa,

I agree.  I have been doing this a long time, and i seem to get a lot of responses on the last day of class from students about assignments.  Most of those are from students I never hear from during the course.

Vimlarani,

I would agree in part, but I also think that the instructor has to be careful not to dominate the discussion.  It is good to jump in but I think the students need to engage with each other more often. What do you think?
