Many states do not have Anti-discriminatory laws against members of the LGBTQ community.  This means that many students going into the workforce will face difficult challenges and need mentors.

Providing career services for LGBTQ is crucial because in the workplace, there are many ways that they can be discriminated against.  

First of all, I am not shocked but disappointed that my state does not have protection of rights for members of the LGBTQ community.  All citizens deserve protection under the law...even in the workplace.

I was shocked to learn that 80% of jobs are not found online...especially in this technological age.

i learned that GE is one of the largest employers of veterans.  This is important to know because veterans need to be familiar with companies where they have better opportunities for employment.

There are many ways that civilians can help veterans cope woth fear, stress, anxiety, and loss.  Veternas learned many skills in the military that are transferrable to civillian life.  They deserve respect and acknowledgment.

It is a good idea to set up a comprehensive career services library.  Students need the opportunity to learn relevant and time sensitive information the workforce. 

It is important to get students to join professional organizations.  Being a part of professional organizations help students gain experiences that they can list on their resumes.

The practice of writing a “post-interview letter” makes a great deal of sense to teach students in an effort to demonstrate courtesy after the interview and stand out among other candidates.  

Job letters should show the same amount of seriousness as a resume because they are still a self-reflection and are impressionable to the employer.
