Activity

I have learned there are many forms of communication with students and we should be aware of their proper function before using them to ensure we are getting through in the best way and using it correctly.

share your knowledge and experiences with students and encourage them to set realistic goals.

Proper ways to get students to actively participate and take joiy in what they are learning and show them how it will add value into their lives and careers.

Remain fair and use active listening, remember they are here out of their own choice and want to move further in life.

Placing people of different ages together in groups to work together can help show what each age group brings to the table and help with overall confidence and moral from either older or younger student's insecurities.

There were many good points on why students may choose to drop online classes and how to keep them engaged and encouraged to stick it out.

The important of class sizes and which type of discussions should be presented, synchronous versus asynchronous. Remembering not everyone reads at the same speed chats should be used for individuals while asynchronous discussions can be used for larger groups where they can expand more on their knowledge.

Allowing students to know about you, personally and professionally can lay a basis of respect as well as remind them you are human. This gives more room for a better interactive relationship.

How important our CMS and technology can be in our courses. We will be able to have so many tools available to us, it is important to be familiar and confident with all of them to be able to provide the best learning environment possible.

Recording yourself teaching, as well as note taking on how it went after can help myself improve. Walking around making sure to offer positive feedback as well as addressing the entire classroom if there is a common mistake being made.
