I found the Professional Leadership Development Plan helpful as I move through my career and smart goals helped me think through my process better.

Did anyone find the appreciative inquiry a little confusing? I struggled with understanding the depth of appreciative inquiry and how it can be used in an organization. Just curious

I enjoyed William Bowen interview so much that I went to youtube and watched Part 1 & Part 2 of the whole interview.  I found it interesting how higher education has impacted our society and particularly the importance of people applying for college to remove the generational challenge.

I've learned there are more leadership styles than anticipated and that one's leadership will encompass many traits from other styles. However, we all have a dominant leadership style.

Yes, I have found that followers can inspire other leaders either negatively or positively. I think a lot depends on the strength of the leader and whether they allow themselves to be open to anything. Sometimes the leader should question the intent of the followers knowing that the followers may also have other coworkers willing to listen and follow behind them. The follower should be careful that they are not taking all the heat on behalf of the other followers and ask why am I willing to put myself out in the front.

I have to listen. Take notes. Read the content. and do this process at least twice before taking the quiz.

I am a person who has both indirect and direct leadership. While doing the quiz I realize that I also manage but in doing so I am always focused on the organizational goals while balancing nurturing my staff and students. I will focus more on the leadership going forward and be unapologetic about it. This is where I am vulnerable at times but I own my role and position. I enjoy nurturing my staff to prepare them for achieving their own goals and notice when a different discussion is need to motivate.

In doing so, I must balance the stakeholders (i.e., students, instructors, community,  and Board of Directors). Each group requires leadership but sometimes I find myself managing.
