Activity

Great module, a lot of good info

Setting reasonable and challenging objectives in a course will give a certain satisfaction to a student at the end of it all if they feel as though they were challenged and obtained a skill-set that will aid them in their trek towards theeir new career!
I have used “Youtube” and other online sources for both the good information they can convey or to demonstrate to students how things “are-not” done! Students have said that they appreciate the value added information and a break from a lecture or as a means to give a visual of what we are about to discuss…
I have learned that there is a very good reason to have a “back-up” lesson plan, in fact an instructor should have a back-up, back-up plan for those days where none of your AV aides won’t work, and you cannot get to the internet and all else just plain fails! There is nothing worse than standing in front of a million pairs of eyes with nothing to say or do..
Taking the time to read through all of the supporting material and chapters will help you, the instructor, to become familiar with the material and give you a chance to look for any miss-information or lapses in the material before trying to present it to the students!

Some very interesting concepts with regards to the different adult learners and the many ways an instructor must learn to effectivly communicate information to them!

I have found that by sharing my Power Point slides with some students who are having a hard time understanding or learning new material acts like a"scaffold" for them to learn better!

A good judicious review and demonstrating to the student the relevance of the material learned will go a long way towards helping the student retain what they have learned

Hate it when in a small class you have a group of visual learners and one tactile learner, its a task to teach to a group like this and keep all interested in the material....
Being able to recognize the many differing learning styles that might be in one class is important so that after explaining a concept, for those who need a more concrete explanation, you can draw on other methods or ways to explain a theory
