I liked how this broke down bias and showed how to apply AI in each way. For me, letting AI run independently is a challenging concept right now. Now granted, I do not fully understand AI in the manner that AI experts do, so that does place into my skepticism that way of using AI. However, I do agree that no matter how you apply AI, continuous monitoring is something that needs to be done on a regular basis to ensure the continuous accuracy of information and its application to the CTE, especially when it comes to ethics. I use… >>>

Why ethics matter in AI is a big deal. Ethics applies to every field that is out there, no matter what it is. This means that ethics is a part of all the careers or jobs there are. When you incorporate anything into the education or work field, you have to ensure that it matches not only the mission and vision of the facility but also the objectives of the course or program. The situation is no different when AI is applied. Ensure that AI matches all aspects the same as if switching technologies or textbooks. You must evaluate it… >>>

Being a new instructor is tough; even if you are an experienced educator starting at a new location, you are still a new instructor there. So you are having to learn the way things are done there, and creating your class from scratch sometimes feels like you are new all over. Wanting to do well and prove yourself puts additional pressure on you, especially an educator who is brand new to the educator world. As a new educator in my first teaching role, I apparently touched and hit all the "rookie" mistakes in one semester, so I got them out… >>>

Having a student who is quiet in class is sometimes harder than someone who is outspoken. This is because you don't know if that student is learning or just shy. Creating opportunities for students to cheat increases the chances that cheating will occur. Finding and handling a cheating student can be just as hard as handling a student who is being disruptive in class. Both, though, have to be dealt with and can increase your rapport and respect from the other students.

Dealing with a variety of different students is a factor that plays in education. Some of those students will be good and will do what is asked when it is asked. Others, on the other hand, will not be so eager to do things. Sometimes these students have good reasons as to why they did not do something while others play the game of working harder to get out of things versus just doing them. Being able to navigate through these different types of students is beneficial

Be clear about what you expect from your students and what they can expect from you and the class. When designing activities, include ones that have teamwork as part of it. Not allowing late assignments helps prepare them for the workforce, as being late or turning in stuff late out there is not acceptable.

This module was about motivating your students. When this topic comes up, we think about how we can talk with the students to motivate them. But we forget about an important concept of how to motivate the students: us. When we are enthusiastic about the content and make it fun and show energy and emotion, they are more likely to be excited about the content too.

During this section, we discussed how to keep the students focused in class. Taking the time to build a rapport with the students is very important because they will feel comfortable with you and trust you enough to reach out for needing assistance. Sometimes the world of education can be overwhelming and a thankless job. When that happens, you need to take a minute to recharge yourself and refocus yourself. You can do that by reminding yourself of why you are in education and of the many students you have assisted along the way to their ultimate goal of becoming… >>>

This part discussed various ways to keep students in the program. This includes showing the students that we are human by being caring and fair, treating them with respect, and having clear expectations. In the classroom itself, make the environment engaging, show enthusiasm for the content, and create a fun learning environment.

This first part discusses some characteristics of the students we will see in our classrooms. One of the concepts that some professors do not take into consideration in an university setting that handles a variety of different students is the difference in the ages among the cohort. The age factor brings a whole different aspect for each of the students on how they mingle with each other, and fears are different too. This could contribute to frustrations while they are in the program. One of the most important things we can do for the students is to assist them with… >>>
