In this module I learned that the teacher must create a clear roadmap when laying out the class before you teach.  Oragnize lessons into chunks and add  into "Modules".  Make sure that all the modules are layout out consistanly in style, font and design.  Maintaining a data base of files and resources helps to add content throughout the course.

This module stress that managing an online course is very similar to a face-to-face class.  You must be aware of the types of learner you have, keep accurate records and reach out to students who are falling behind or having issues.

This module was very interesting to me.  Zoom is the current "Cool Tool".  Teachers who have not taught online before all are trying to use Zoom to recreate a classroom experience.  That is a form a Syncronous Learning, which is not encouraged.  Instead asyncronous learning is prefered to allow more thoughtful participate and allow learners to learn at their own pace.

This section talked about the importance to build a relationship with the students from the beginning of the class.  First, give them your biography of your academic accomplishments and experience.  Then, students first assignment is to provide you with a bio.  Teacher needs to reach out personally to each student within the first week.  Also, maintain set office hours and provide constant feedback and encouragement to your students.

To be an effective online teacher, you must first know all the course content and plan through how you will lay out the course.  Online teachers will bring there own teacher experience to the CMS.  Effective online teachers must be familiar with the CMS, course content, and technical aspects to be able to answer students questions and tech them effectively.
