Planning before the course and setting up clear communication guidelines will foster effective communication.

This section focuses on the importance of setting up guidelines for effective communication.  Students and instructors needs clear guidelines on what types of communication methods to be used, how often to communicate and appropiate responces.  Students also must know consequences for inproper communication.

This module talks about the various forms of communication.  It seems like they need to update the platforms mentioned.  Telephone and email are effective one-on-one communication tools, but for large group terms like "Conferences" and "Zoom" conference calls should be added.

Planning out the contect in an online content is important to a successful online course.  Consider the 4 O's or your course:  Origin, Organization, Orchestration and outcomes assessment.  Plan for student engagement and recognize the presentation of a tradition will be altered to fit the online course with articles and web content.

In this lesson I learned an online teacher plays multiple roles from instructor, facilator, social cordinator and administrator.  The level of preparedness and involvement of the online instructor will play a large role in the success of student learning.

As a F2F teacher, moving to an online teaching, it is important to understand the difference between Asychronous and Sychronous online classess.  Before even teaching on online class, one must consider which is going to fit their teaching style and the course best.  Although Asychronous is most effective for online teaching, there are times to use sychronous teaching effectively if it is planning out and the expectations are set up in advance.

An instructor needs to reconigized the various teaching tools that are available and use the ones that will benifit the course and more importantly the students best.  Based on course outline, learning outcoming and the teaching style of the teacher, the teacher should choose appropriate technology tools.  Throughout the course and after the course, teachers should evaluated with students which methods to keep, alter and stop using.

No class should be finished when once you finish teaching it.  "Looping" is an important tool to continual update and revise your could the help all 3 stakeholders.  Instructors must use a variety of forms of assessments and feedback to help update and revise the course.

In this module I learned about meaningful assessessements.  Assessments should have  formal assessments imbeded in the lessons and summative feedback.  Clear instructions and a rubric help for proper assessment.  When grading a teacher also needs to provide clear and meaningful feeback.

This module taught that in an online envorionment you build a dynamic syllabus and not a static one like in a  Face To Face class.  In addition to building a dynamic syllabus, online instructors need to use the LMS to create an online community and promote effective communication.  Finally, the course must be designed in a scaffolding mannerer where prior knowledge builds into next lesson.
