It was good to affirm my belief that feedback is essential and in the course I learned that is really foundational to growth and improvement.  I thought the tips were very helpful and the articles and videos had good additional information.

I plan to use the information I learned to expand on my interactions with my peers and supervisors moving forward.

It had not occurred to me to use something like a Concept Map or Portfolio as part of an evaluation method.  I am curious to see how that would like in the courses we teach here and look forward to trying them out!

I really have no experience, other than as a student, with rubrics and so that information was especially helpful for me.  I look forward to the opportunity to try them out and see how they will work for me when the next group of students come in.  I completely see how that transparency can not only save some conversations about grading and grades but also give the students a clear and concise idea of what the assignment is about and the criteria used to evaluate it.

Post what you've learned about this topic and how you intend to apply it. Feel free to post questions and comments too.

I feel that I have learned that there are a multitude of ways to help create a structure and a community among my online students and that it is much more dynamic than I had originally imagined.  I am looking forward to attempting to create a more interactive syllabus and providing avenues for feedback!

I am new to Teaching in a formal sense, just hired to a faculty position 3 months ago.  I had not thought about having a learning object database and I am wondering how broadly I apply this.  It makes sense to have one and use it as a clearinghouse for things across modules but I have not ever done this before.  I welcome anyone else's thoughts or experience with this kind of database.
