The importance of getting to know something about your students and allowing them to know a little bit about you and what your expectations are for the class.  Making sure that the students see you as not only the instructor but a person as well.  

The instructor should be mindful of the objectives and information that need to be covered.  Making notes and having a clear path of what you want to teach keeps u on the right track and helps to remind us of what important information is needing distributed to the class.  Always prepare ahead of time.  Learn your students and what they need. 

As educators it is important to be professional and model behavior that you would like to be exhibited by your students.  Also, making sure that your students are actually learning and that you adapt your classroom to the type of students you are teaching.  Not all students learn the same way and adjustments need to be made accordingly.
