I have videotaped myself giving a presentation and noticed the annoying things I do.

Now that I know what I do, I can work on decreasing that behavior.

Being patient and allowing the students to answer and allowing other opinions is a challenge for every adult, because we have so much to offer on any and every topic.

In learning the various styles of learning, creativity is required to incorporate the different styles into your classroom learning.

Thinking through your week, jotting down "To Do" items will help forgetful instructors outside class and in the classroom.

Be creative, competent and personable, adaptive, flexible and open in your teaching/learning styles.

It's critical to put the students at ease with clear expectations, how we're going to get from day one to final exam. Providing examples and and giving pretest decreases the anxiety level of nervous students.

Having the instructor in class before the students shows the instructor is prepared and excited about the subject matter.

Practice, observe, revise, question, feedback, a continuous improvement project is how one develops as an instructor.

How critically important feedback is to adult learners and how critical it is to return exams, quizzes, tests as soon as possible and the affect a delay in feedback can negatively impact the adult learner.

An instructor not only has to have expertise, but empathy and understanding.

The ability to convey their passion for the subject to others in a positive an motivating way.
