Activity

Creating a Mission Statement and reviewing it prior to going into the classroom is a great idea.

Using pretest to assess background experience, knowledge and understanding of the material.

No more overloading powerpoint slides with everything said on it.

Being prepared is critical, as the students watch everything you do. Fumbling for papers, handing out papers with spelling mistakes will be pointed out immediately.

Over preparation and expecting perfection and not giving too much information all at once.

In some schools the student with behavioral problems have a adult shadower with them at all times, in order to keep the student inside the classroom learning with the other students. This would not work with adults, only for children.

It's a great idea to have the Blue Cards and the Observer, which serves purposes of Center Stage students as well as the inattentive student.

Allowing students to record lecture, record other students reading the textbook really helped my classmates understand the material.

Creating content for ELL students alongside regular curriculum, may slow things down but in the end, everyone will be successful in learning the material.

I have created learning groups of 5-8 students and the group was critical in the support of the weaker students, and a major confidence booster to the students who absorbed the materials quickly by constantly questioning, testing and challenging them.
