In the environment I teach in, I can use positive reinforcement and be consistent so that students will not have surprise triggers.

My goal as an educator is to help my students be successful in the classroom. Knowing the signs and symptoms or trauma can help me understand an individual's behavior, and when I can offer support or find help for a student.

Recognizing fight, flight, fawn, or freeze responses.

At the post-secondary level, I have students that are veterans and are still dealing with war PTSD. This training helped me to understand what PTSD is, how to look for symptoms or triggers, and my role in providing support to these veterans and other students that have had traumatic experiences.

I plan to use technology to enhance student learning experiences. In addition to academic learning, I plan to encourage the use of email correspondence to promote professionalism for students in their future workplaces.

I want to make sure that I am correctly accommodating any student that has need. I plan to use different teaching strategies of direct instruction, indirect instruction, independent study and experimental learning.

It is important to lesson plan, beginning with the end in mind. I really like the concept of a flipped classroom.

It is good to have a plan for a lesson, module, and semester so that concepts can be used as building blocks for student growth and learning.

My teaching philosophy is an explanation of my values and beliefs as these relate to teaching. As a new CTE teacher I am discovering my teaching philosophy. Safety is paramount to everything I do!

I am a millennial teaching mostly "gen z's" and so some strategy for their best learning can be considered by using video recordings they can access. In post secondary education, some of my classes are a mix of baby boomer, gen x, gen y, and gen z- classroom management and content delivery has to be well managed in those classes.
