A good rule to follow is the Golden Rule: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” - Jesus taught it very well.

It is good to model healthy and clearly set boundaries when communicating with students, i.e. how often and how quickly responses can be expected.

I like using the Remind App for effective and timely communication with my students. Through the app, I can send them project of lab specific updates and any short notice class changes that might happen.

My Canvas organization of the course content is essential to allow students to find important information quickly and to allow anyone to update information on a timely basis.

When I was a student, I never enjoyed discussion boards. Instructors should make sure to teach students how to respond to a discussion board. Make sure they know what is expected in response to questions or in posting a question.

I find most students struggle with asynchronous learning.

I enjoy incorporating technology tools into my classroom presentations. It allows me to experiment with the tools to create better learning environments and opportunities for my students.

Some of the service learning our students have done has been very hard and challenging- which was a great teaching tool for our students to decide if this was a career choice for them or not.

I wonder if this is what our technical advisory committees (TAC) are for? To help us plan and evaluate.

We have the opportunity to do service learning by spraying fields for farmers in the area for free with the school's spray drone- super awesome hands on opportunity!
