I learned that it's okay to revise goals and establish new more achievable ones if neccessary.

There's a difference between learning preferences and learning challenges. Creating content that is applicable to all learners/differentiating work and content and creating a inclusive learning evironment can help with both learning preferences and learning challenges.

Allowing someone to speak and use their "mother tongue" to help them in different literary and dialogue situations will help with their success in learning a new langugage/lieracy.

Overall its important to recognize what makes everyone special and unique. Enhance and include this qualities without bias. Culture, race and other differences are what makes the world beautiful. Get to know your students as people and individuals and embrace their differences. Emerge youself in educational courses that teaches how to support, differentiate and understand different cultures, race, and all things that make us unique. Don't be color-blind be educated and open and realistic and caring.

An important fact was that people stereotype because "it's easy" however, making assumptions and stereotyping diminishes character and can be harmful to a student's success.

It is important for teachers to maintain routine/structure, be clear and consise, have auditory and visual reminders for students.

It was interesting to know that a child's IEP plan cannot move forward with them into college. This is why its important to build a rapport with all of your students so that they are comfortable with sharing such vital information.

What stood out most to me was that Autism was misdiagnosed and linked to Schizophenia and Down's Syndrome. I'm happy that further research was done and gave these disorders their own categories so that people can get the right diagnosis, resources and treatment.

I learned how important it is to try and diagnose the child early on. This will help with supporting the child and knowing how to help and provide resources to them to help them be more successful in life.
