The piece that caught my eye was the one on “to be successful in a health career, one must be able to use more than one sense at a time.” How true it is... this statement to students is one of those situations that will be remembered.  The bingo sheet for skills that one needs to master is a great idea.  I use bingo sheets as an activity to get to know each other at the beginning of the year.

The professional activity I love is the out-of-the-ordinary teaching event, as well as breaking the class into small groups. Using these to foster memory of the content, and these activities will be used in my classes.  I can also use this with my online courses.

This course has opened up my teaching to a new world of educational tools.  The PAL3 tool is fantastic and will hopefully be utilized in professions with high turnover.  The on-the-job training and showing improvement in retention is impressive. This growing technology is way above my pay grade, but I am willing to implement it in my professional practice as a nurse and as a CTE health science educator.

In this module, I learned a lot: Flipped teaching, Video, Flow Models (Synchronous/Asynchronous), Immersive Experience Delivery, and online journaling.  Wow...what great resources for CTE educators.  These new things will be utilized in student learning.

The ever-changing world and the rapid growth of technology require us to expose students to virtual reality experiences to engage them. Never knew about a sharing tool “VR Expeditions 2.0” where schools and teachers can be both producers and consumers.  The role of the CTE educator is rapidly evolving with technology, and we need to adapt to these changes and provide these services to our students along their educational paths.

As I move forward with CTE/Adult courses, I need to explore and expand my remote teaching capabilities.  To achieve this, I need to understand 21st-century remote learning models and connect with the best teaching models within CTE.  The plan is to expand the variety of technology platforms available to all users.

I learned that in today's world, it is essential to have computer knowledge in your toolbox.  The rapidly changing technology world is a lifelong learning necessity.  We need to be competent in the basic computer operating programs to be marketable.  The importance of staying informed about the ever-growing technology world, especially with a basic understanding of computers.  Will continue to utilize computer technology in the classroom, as well as various online platforms and resources for support.

Lifelong learning increases one's knowledge, but learning is more than that.  The growth of one's understanding is crucial in one's profession and life.  In health, it makes you more marketable with improvements and advances, and the profession encourages one to engage in lifelong learning. Incorporating the importance of continuing to be a sponge and enhancing your knowledge is essential, regardless of the path you take in life.

I learned the importance of working together and strengthening interpersonal skills. Communication skills, including verbal, written, and nonverbal, are valuable tools for individuals to utilize in team exercises.  These techniques encompass various learning styles, including visual, auditory, tactile, and kinesthetic learning. Body language and active listening are great tools to have in your toolbox.  Having team projects and utilizing the skills that some team members are proficient in, while others will learn from each other. This is a tool that all will use daily.

A refresher on the importance of writing, and it doesn’t have to be an overwhelming experience.  Writing has always been a challenge for me, and the steps of writing and how to assess writing assignments are a valuable resource.  I have students writing in journals daily.  The first small research project was conducted in collaboration with a partner. The second writing they do is a critique of the research project writing. The last one of the semester is done alone. We do a day of peer review with input.
