I've found that adult students really crave that personal attention from an instructor who really wants to help them succeed. Succeeding to an adult student is typically not an abstract concept like it may be to a traditional college student, adult learners want to know how the material will directly impact what they'll be doing in the work place. An instructor who ties real world scenarios to the concepts being taught in class is much more valuable to the adult learner. From my experience the latest and greatest may not always be appropriate or beneficial as the training points out. I've always found that if you put technology "in the way" of learning it forces students to use it, but only put it there if it will enhance their ability to comprehend the material or will force them to dig deeper into it. By adding things of no value, the students will simply see it as overhead and may not use the technology as intended and it may even distract them from the actual goal of learning the material.
An additional aspect that could assist if providing and receiving feedback in a team setting is to better understand how our unique personalities come into play. Possibly by introducing a tool such as the Meyers Briggs type indicator (MBTI) or Strength Deployment Inventory (SDI) would assist in approaching others on the team in an effective way. What may work for one personality type, may not work for another type. This would help move the team or individual in the appropriate direction.
