I learned it's very important that an onlinecourse en online course provides a high level of instantaneous feed back an d iteraction

I have been using asynchronous methods of the teaching and learning for a few years.  I can see the benefit of using synchronous teaching methods for an online course.  I just worry about all the students having the right materials and broadband speeds for accessing the materials and following along on their systems.

 

For the instructor its a very good idea to have all the assignments, posts and other course material online at once but if its all visibile to the students it can get overwhemling and diffcult to navigate.  It's also best if the more recent material appears at the top of the page.  Some platforms put the most recent material at the bottom.  This can be difficul to navigate.  Ideally each student should be able to structure their screens and portals in a way that's easy for them to navigate unfortunately this is not always the case.  It can be sometimes… >>>

I have been using course managment tools for some years and have some awareness of their strengthsn and limitations.  I have also been dabling with screen capture software to create more engaging lectures.  But the idea of virtual classrooms is nice since they can be more interactive in real time.  I found the information about making online lectures no more than 15 minutes very helpful
