Reply to Gail Lewis's post:Hi Gail, yes that can be a very challenging situation for you as a teacher. I belive every institution has a dedicated IT department with access to help desk that you can refer your student(s) to to seek technical help. However, if this issue is related to your student's internet access to his/her home, then there is nothing you can do except advise them to contact their internet provider, they may need to upgrade their speed or/and connection.

Pay special attention to disabled student is an important part of teaching and learning. We as teachers must ensure that all students including those with disabilities (physical, mental, cognitive) have equal access to learning materials and learning resources so that everyone can have equal opportunity to learn the subject matter.

Reply to Barbara Anthony's post:Yes I totally agree with you here Barbara and just to add my thoughts to your wonderful post, stakeholders are critical part of any organization as they all have vested interest in your organization and you certainly don't want any stakeholder left out which may actually damage your organizational reputation and goodwill.

In today's technological advancement, using technology is an important elelment for educational institution, especially it applied to current Covid-19 Pandemic situation where most if not all educational institutions (Globally) using distant education through online learning platform.

Reply to Katherine Conway's post:I agree with you on this and to me all and fairly inclusive educationak program with equal access to everyone rather giving opportunity or extra support to success will always be safe and constrcutive for everyone, especially for us as teachers and keep institution's goodwill

Students with disablity of any kind that were discussed in this course should be taken seriously and must be given equal treatment when it comes to equal access to education and education related resources. We as teachers should be supportive as much as we can within the scope of limitation and threshold mandated by laws and institutions and make sure that we do not cros the limit and try to pout ourselves in posiible liability or trouble with the laws even we have best intentions for our students.

Reply to Bethany Azad's post:I agree with you here Bethany and there is no 'One size fits all' when it comes to disability and we must be able to identify students with disability without asking unlawful questions and try to be supportive as much as possible beyond the call of duty (what laws require), this will not only motivate a student with disability but also the student will know that we care about his/her condition and will everything we can within our capabilitties.

There are many ways that educational institution can provide adequate accommodations for student with disabilities and be in compliant with ADA laws. There are institutions who will go beyond the call of ADA laws and provide more than required support to students with disability without being supporting to success but rather making sure all students including those with disability have equal access to all resources to be successful.

Reply to Jennifer Lerette's post:I totally agree with you here Jwennifer and just to add my thoughts to your wonderful post, there will always be a gray area where the judgement of fairness will come to play for us as teachers and we must find that common ground with fairness with disability and non-disability to maje sure we treat everyone fairly and equally with giving any special treatment beyond the threshold set by the laws and institutional rules for providing reasonable accommodation to those in needs (nothing more or nothing less).

This is a very important section what is learning about various disablity including learning disability. We as a treachwer must pay attention to these group of students who need help in learning and we must provide them with support.
