Great class!

I think soft skills are really important. A lot of people think having a bunch of degrees makes them smart, but without soft skills the degrees are useless. We need to know how to communicate with people and understand people. The connection with people/students is what is important.

1. I have learned different ways to get information across to students. I think the idea of using guest speakers is great. I also think the small groups are great, I used them today in my class and the students really seemed to learn from each other. I also like the idea of handouts on different color of paper, it helps the students to quickly reference and adds fun to the information on the sheet. ED105 has allowed me to change my grading system. I would let students hand assignments in up until the last day of class, which only caused more stress for me and didn't teach them anything. They would only leave my classroom and think this was accepted behavior. I now give them one week then the grade becomes a zero. On the first day of class, I give them a list of all their assignments, so if they miss class they know the assignmnet they missed.
