Using various teaching methods allows for students with different learning methods to be successful in the class. Keeping the class entertaining is also essential in their learning. Being prepared and practicing your demonstration before hand can be helpful. 

Students should leave the first class excited and confident that they will do well in the course. Introducing yourself and allowing students to introduce themselves in very important. 

Coming into class early and learning students names in essential. Having a clear objective set when class begins and fulfilling all objectives by the time class ends to set clear expectations each day. 

Having good hygiene and coming to class in professional attire are two ways to show professionalism and that you are prepared. Arriving at least 15 minutes before students arrive and having everything prepared will signal to students that you are prepared and excited to teach. 

Email is an effective way of communication. However, the minimum turn around time an instructor should promise is 24 hours. It can get overwhelming with multiple messages and can be hard to juggle it all. There are different types of behaviors for online learners which include disruptive, quiet and procrastinator. 

Feedback given to students should be encouraging. Synchronous discussions are more challenging than asynchronous discussions due to the potential change in time zones. 

Having a personal biography for the students which includes your level of expertise will ensure them that they are being well taught. Encouraging students to also have their own biography is a way for the instructor to get to know the student.

There are various types of learning that can be effective for students. Getting students together to learn in small groups in one of many techniques. Two examples of group based work are peer reflections and be the expert, which literally means allowing the students to be the expert in the specific topic at hand.
