Technology is a factor in online learning. When a program fails, it is essential to have a back up plan in place just in case. Some may not realize that online learning can also be engaging.

Students tend to juggle too many things at once, Examples being work, personal life, and multiple online classes. A common misconception is that online courses are quick, which leads to students not giving enough time to online courses. Netiquette is essential to using appropriate language and manners on the internet.

Students need to be prepared to become a good online learner, as to some this does not come naturally. Communication skills are essential on both the instructor and the student for effective learning. 

Structure, time management, and self-motivation are key factors on being a successful online instructor with higher potential to succeed.
