I was taught the significance of being aware of the concept of consent, sexual violence, and stalking, as well as dealing with victims of such crimes in a non-judgmental manner and showing support. Additionally, I was educated on how interim measures, sanctions, and remedies can help protect the complainant and prevent future damage. My intention is to make use of this information in identifying warning signs and reporting issues accordingly.

I found out that Responsible Employees should report any suspected violation of Title IX to the Title IX Coordinator and inform students about limitations on confidentiality. I can use this information in my practice when I respond to the situation and refrain from discouraging reporting.

I came to know that procedures for Title IX need to be prompt, fair, impartial, and all about safeguarding everyone. The application of these learnings will be done through understanding institutional policies and taking proper action.

It has come to my understanding that the rights of students and employees to be free from discrimination based on sex harassment and violence against women are covered by both the Title IX and Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). I have also understood the need for confidentially, support services and awareness of when to report to the Title IX Coordinator.

With that in mind, I am determined to use the above-mentioned knowledge by becoming conversant with the policies of the university, recognizing prohibited behaviors, and dealing with them in case any concerns are raised to me.
