Short simple and different learning blocks help ALL learners.

Pay attention to the introduction of students.  This may give some valuable insight as to their REAL background and/limitations of experience.  Very important because you may discover that the student is unfamiliar with course content.  I learned this the hard way.

Preparing for a course does not stop - it continues with preparing for each CLASS.  How many times have you been a student and had an instructor walk in and think that he/she just "knows everything" and then they stumble and come across as completetly unprepared for the class and material that day?

Always continue to try to improve.  I have often seen very good SME's fail miserably at instructing because they always want to brain dump all of their history on the students, instead of teaching thwm what they need to know.

Add technology to a course... trust me it helps with learning... checks on learning.

Lesson plan = Structure.

Held a course a few years back with no pretest.  A student enrolled and after 4 hours they finally acknowledged that they had ZERO understanding of any material that was required before taking the course.  Very important to have a basic understanding

I never knew test questions were so important until analyzing the design and INTENT of each question.  Very important to match up the question with the intent.

Very important to assess the classroom and make sure there is comprehension.

Engage and make sure students have a full understanding of why they are there and how the training plays a role in their job/position/tasks.
