About me

Activity

I have had success with tutoring students with reading disabilities, just by letting them read to me and then tell me what their understanding of what they read.
I have my students read to me a passage from a manual. This way i can tell what their reading ability is and if they understand what they just read.
I try to keep an eye on all my students as they are performing their tasks, this way i can see if they have a question or if they are about to make a serious mistake.
I like to keep eye contact with my students. I believe that it makes them feel that i am talking to them on a one to one basis, makes them feel special.
I try to keep my students informed of their greades on a daily basis, this way they know exactly where they stand and where they need to improve.
I try to learn my students name by the first or second class meeting. When you call on a student by name, they have more of a connection with you and are more apt to open up to you on a personnel basis. I have had students come up to me and tell me that they can't read very well, now i know what kind of help to get them.
I have had students that just did not get what i was trying to teach them. I used three or four different ways of explaining and showing them, all of a sudden the light comes that aha moment. Love it. The best feeling ever.
a leader needs to know what needs to be done and know the people that can get it done by encouragement and participation.
Change is good, changing things all the time is not good.Leadership in the change is good if all participants have the same vision.
it is very important that you know the "type" of person that you are working with.
