Time waits for no man

Time management can be a componet of good business or good instruction EVERY day- there is only so much time to conduct so much business. In the case of instruction, say in the field of HISTORY. History increases in volume every day but the time you have to instruct it remains the same. So do we just keep deleting and condensing to get all the important facts in or do we make the points that are the most important center on the rest of the topic. Of course the answer is B, and we take for granted that the time we allocate will remain sufficient to perform our duties- it may not, so the preparation of good time management is always important. One and One is always Two. THe ways we choose to teach this are limited and there is only going to be one asnwer, but with 'non-science' oriented courses there are always new theories and perspectives. As stated History contantly grows, and we have a tendancy to compact items to get in the most important facts but we often start leaving out items that are imoortant in the learning stucture of that course.

Regarding non-science oriented courses;  yes there are theories and perspectives, especially in Medical science, after all we are still "practicing medine"  ~smile

You are correct. The amount of material in any subject discipline is increasing  exponentially. As instructors, we try our best to highlight the most relevant ideas. Due to time constraints, we are always trying to put a round peg into a square opening. The main emphasis is to encourage the students to continue learning on their own.
